“I expected more from Yamaha”

★★★☆☆

I bought my Majesty 400 (2004 model)6 weeks ago. At first it was al right, but mile after mile i discovered its weak points. It is not my first scooter so I have something to compare it with. My old Aprilia Atlantic 200cc. The main reason i changed it is the lack of power of that 200cc engine. Sprint to 60mph wasn't bad but it stoped soon after around 70mph (which was annoying). The Majesty can easily do 100mph, but cornering over 70 it feels like a yacht on rough sea even in large motorway bends, the rear suspension is TO soft and that's bad for high speed stability, and I can feel the chassy woble when I hit a bump in a bend. They compromised to much stability to gain comfort so personaly i feel it comfortable but dangerous in some situations. That said, if I had the chance to chose betwen the Atlantic 200c and the Majesty again, i'd still have the Majesty. Note that my Majesty is quite old, I noticed that newer models (after 2006) are improved like double front disk brake in stead of single like mine has and diferent rear suspension so i expect these newer models to be better.
As you can see from my rating with a Yamaha badge I expected more.
