I've had my 2008 Burgman 400 now for about a month, I've covered about 500 miles and I really love it. My previous commuter was a Majesty 250, which was good but had major flaws, I.E power/size. (I'm 6ft4). But the Burgman cover's those 2 major issues with ease, for starters the legroom is huge, even with my 33" inseam I still have 2/3 inches before I get anywhere near the plastic glove box area. As for the power, it's not neck breaking like a sportsbike, but it'll give those 883 Harley's a run for it's money to 60. I've clocked mine to 60 (using GPS) and I consistently got around 8 seconds, which is quick enough to beat 75% of cars away from the lights and the odd Harley. Top speed wise I've been up to 90MPH with about a quarter of throttle left, that's as far as I'm willing to go. Other great thing's include, huge underseat storage, heated grips as standard, great weather protection, comfy (ish) seat and the dash readout is superb. There are a few downsides, but none of which are too severe. Firstly the weight, I mean it's a bulky old thing, maybe because I'm so used to the 250 Majesty, but pulling it on/off the stand is hard work. The front screen is ok, it's looks the part but it does deflect the wind directly into your forehead. Which after 70-80 miles, and with me wearing ear plugs, does tend to give me a headache. Finally the 12 volt adapter which is a great idea apart from the fact you get about 2cm between the adapter and the glove box lid. Which is just stupid.
Anyway apart from those 3 really minor issues the bike is great, great street presence, good acceleration, good handling, reliable, it's just a superb commuter or all rounder.
