“Piaggio X10 Executive”

Written on: 10/05/2013 by Buzgixer (1 review written)

I purchased an X10 last July after owning a 2006 model Yamaha R6. Being that I owned big sports bikes all my life I've always been cynical about scooter ownership. The fact that I was knocked off my R6 and smashed my left ankle left me no option but a large scooter. I was pleasantly surprised by the torque, especially off the lights. The bike has traction control as standard so if it's raining and I want to get away first from the lights without spinning up then there's not many other bikes… Read Full Review

Juliankirkness's Response to Buzgixer's Review

Hi

I have had an X10 for a similar amount of time and agree it's great - I too have owned some big bikes (several BMW R1200s, a K1200GT, Honda CB1300 etc) and find the X10 more fun - although I would love a little more power - wish they sold the 50o in the UK.

However I completely disagree about the mirrors - I think they are some of the best bike mirrors I've used!

“Piaggio X10”

Had this bike for 3 months now.overall I am happy with this bike. Good speed away from lights. And although this is a big scooter, you can still get through traffic. Only down side so far,is when you need to turn in a tight circle . Do this move very slowly .because of the long wheel base, you may drop it. Gets glances from car drivers. Good ride, good comfort .would defo recommend… Read Full Review

“2012 Piaggio X10 350 Exec.”

Written on: 25/11/2012 by Expat47 (2 reviews written)

I've just bought my X10 a couple of days ago and want to start this review from the beginning of the experience. The X10 is my 2ed scooter as I'm coming off a SYM GTI250i which I was very pleased with. I was led to the X10 350 Exec. because of the front/rear ABS and anti-skid features which, I feel, are a MUST in big city (Athens, Greece) driving where the white line dividing the lanes is used by most 2wheeled vehicles. (Looks may have played a roll too. ;) My 1st, overall, impression is… Read Full Review

Expat47's Response to Expat47's Review

I wasn't going to add to my review until much later but I believe that it is important that I let any readers know that I've spotted what could be a very severe problem, at least here in Greece.

When I ordered my X10 I also order the 50ltr top box and would have liked to have a close look at the gel seat. Much to my disappointment, neither one is available! The excuse given is that Piaggio Italy can't supply them.

Last week I ordered a 2ed "normal" key as you are given one "normal" key and one "master" key. If you loose the normal key you can make a new one with the master key but woe unto any who lose the master! Today I stopped by the shop (I was told the key would be there in only 3 days) and was told that they were still waiting for them to come from Italy!

Now, if Piaggio can't supply the after market items they advertise and can't even seem to have enough blank keys to keep their dealers supplied just what is the availability of any parts. New scooters do, from time to time, break down, fall over, and have other mishaps that would require parts to get back on the road. Are there any?

Is this problem unique to Greece? I feel it is a hard question any potential buy should find an honest answer to before buying an X10.
