“2012 sportcity chinese edition rocks”

★★★★★

written by tamutinga on 12/03/2012

I just bought a new sportcity 125cc here in china. one of my chinese friends recommended it to me (more on that later), as I was needing a new scooter after my two year old 150cc qing qi scooter started to disintegrate right, left, and center. im not sure if this model is being sold outside china. its batch date is 14th January 2012. as I said before my friend had one of these bikes, a 2010 edition, which among other things has a faulty fuel gage, off-center frame, and has, even to this day, stalling issues from the get go. my friend told me that all these issues had been taken care of for this new edition, and I must say, albeit early days, three to be exact, this is indeed the case. fuel gage works as it should, and there's no stalling...so far so good. the only point of issue I have with this bike is when after you start to decelerate, the bike slows down quite rapidly...so much so it's as though I am breaking suddenly, but im not. I read somewhere this is called running lean...not very up on mechanical phrases. however I have started to realise this is just my bikes way of saving the breaks...so no coasting :0 ( the engine is also at a higher tone than my old 150cc, and the floor vibrations are more noticable, but it is by far a much better ride, and those 14" tyres, and wing mirrors are fantastic. I will report back after my bike has been run in...happy travels, Tom.

“Scooter is cheap?”

★★☆☆☆

written by Nriku on 23/10/2011

Ive bought an aprilia sportcity cube 125 of 2010, brand new. The bike, when is hot, is a very good sportive scooter, because of his perfect breaking system and his stability. Here finishes the god points. The scooter consumes a lot of fuel. 5,5l/100km is a lot for an scooter of 125. I spected a maximum of 4,5. To start the engine you always need to accelerate, the engine is not well combined with the started engine. When is cold, there is a noise from the chain (plastic chain, i dont know too much english), like a clac-clac. The acceleration at cold is veeeery poor (the variator is pathetic), youll be passed within the 15m by a honda lead... As a conclusion, if you want to have a diferent scooter, you need to buy a new variator ( malossi p.e.), plastic chain. Otherwise, i will recommend you a honda sh.

Got a aprilia cube 2011 125cc, great bike with massive 15in wheels, got it for nearly 2 months now and its a great scooter, pretty fast 4 stroke water cooled engine, great handling, and rear disc break.
The plastic bits seems a bit cheap but i guess you cant have everything.
its a great looking bike. and highly recommended.
