Very clear and stimulating introduction. Easy to read (even for scientists like myself)...Last chapters are vague, but that is probably a good reflection on the current state of the philosophy of science. This well written introduction to the philosophy of science is probably a "must have" for anybody who wants to get acquainted with epistemology.

Alan Chalmers, What Is This Thing Called Science? - The beginning is clear and convincing.
The last chapters are more superficial, and could in fact be shorter.
The author's final opinion lies in fact between Feyerabend's dismissal of a clearcut criterion to define science, and Lakatos's recourse to the ill-defined concept of progress.
Isn't there an obvious circle in defining both science and progress respectively in terms of each other?
