I've owned this flat bed Twain, Epson scanner for about 7 years and I must say that it is one great scanner. It has both USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 Firewire connectivity and is PC and Mac compatible, 2400 x 4800 dpi hardware resolution with Micro Step Drive technology and has 48-bit colour depth.
I've scanned all sorts of documents & photo prints with it via Microsoft XP. Though I use it to scan 120 medium format monochrome photo negatives by employing the included plastic carriers, I use a dedicated film scanner for my 135 film stock. I had to make a carrier out of hobby card in order to hold my very old 110 colour negative strips in place to scan them which worked surprisingly well.
Sadly, though this scanner has now been made obsolete by subsequent models from Epson.
