    I couldn't put 'Tipping The Velvet' down, characterization was fantastic, story was great. It's a little slow in parts but overall a great read, definitely recommended. Brilliantly written.

    Sarah Waters, Fingersmith: I have become so caught up in this story it has inspired me to begin or should I say try to right the story that is in my head. If my book is 1/8 as good as this one I will be happy.

    A rare book that details two women's lives without giving all the answers. Maintaining interest and anticipation throughout. Like Margaret the reader is left stunned and empty at the end.
