First of all, I'd like to notice that I use my player for music listening mostly (no game playing or Internet access). Besides, I can't say that I have thousands of favourite songs.
So basically, when I had the question of buying a mp3 player my requirements to it were: not big size, big enough screen which is easy to navigate and the music storage that can be increased.
I've checked several brands and their prices. Now I own it about a month.

The SanDisk Sansa M260 MP3 player was a steal at £24.99 from BigPockets(avoid free advertising). It replaced a Matsui one I had that was rubbish & would randomly play tracks or do them in alphabetical order no matter what..! Item: SanDisk Sansa E280 8GB
Due to a Licence cost to supply FM Radio on models sold in Europe there is an extra cost for this feature in the UK, making it more expensive. In my experience, Sandisk support and after care is very very poor.
I would avoid this mp3 player... go for the iPOD. there is a reason it is a best seller... it works and the customer support is ...

The sound quality is brilliant with this MP3 player, that also allows you to adjust various settings. For instance an equalizer for the various genres of music. You can even store FM radio stations into the memory for future use.

I have now bought 4 of these, 3 x 1 GB and 1 x 2GB. They are great value for money and do the job. The AAA battery is easily replaced and lasts a long time.
