    Extremely poor customer service. Would not advise anybody to take up policies with Saga. Had contents insurance, unable to claim due to Saga not making it clear about what was covered by the policy. Phoned to cancel the policy on 1 July for refund on outstanding months as policy covered until end of September 2009. Was told after they had deducted the exit fee of £25 (which I was never made aware of) that I would recieve a refund of £16.78, the advisor then changed his mind and ...

    When I took motor insurance online with Saga in 2008 I opted to pay the full amount as I always do but they contacted me later to inform me the payment had not gone through and persuaded me to pay in 4 instalments at no extra cost. I didn't realise at the time that this means they keep your credit card details and use them to automatically renew the policy. The renewal premium was 29% more than the previous year's.     Saga are absolutely pathetic. Last summer I notified Saga that someone has dented my car door but that I was not making a claim. When I got the renewal lasr week they has increased the premium by nearly 50% due they said "to the claim". When they checked they agreed there was no claim and promised to reduce the premium.     After taking early retirement my wife and I decided to take out health insurance which we had both had in our employment. After many mail shots and phone calls from SAGA we joined.What a waste of money and time. RESTRICTIONS, RESTRICTIONS, RESTRICTIONS.We pay £87 a month for Healthcare 4 Level 4.     My father had an accident in April 2009. He is a pensioner and insured through Saga. The accident was not his fault and the other driver admited responsibility.
