Item: Ryobi PCN-4545
All seemed well with my Ryobi PCN-4545 at first but then I noticed that the gears were slipping when I pulled the starter rope. Now, the gears seem to be totally stripped as they do not engage enough for the engine to turn

I had no problems starting the machine, but you do need to follow the instructions exactly. The bump feed mechanism is atrocious, the line does not feed well, the securing nut wears out instantly and the head gets stuck to the shaft.

Item: Ryobi RBC-52SB Garden Trimmer
Don't confuse the Ryobi RBC-52SB with other Ryobi DIY equipment, this machine is a professional tool. It is a bit weighty and really does require the supplied harness but when it's adjusted correctly its a treat to use. Be warned the 52cc engine will kick back if you don't hang on tightly. The only gripes are the throttle latch, which takes some practise to operate, and the lack of bump feed line head. I think with the fixed line head (supplied), more line will be thrown away than used. ...
