I am an experience rider but don't have my own horse so I take lessons at Bank Farm. The yard has a 'well used' look, and frequently the smaller ponies particularly look 'scruffy'. If you are concerned about image over substance, I can see that first impressions may not always be that good. That said, the instructors are good. There is a good range of mounts, from the slow and reluctant, to the lively an unpredictable. Nervous beginners are generally very happy with the slow and reluctant, those of us with more experience like the lively...and sometimes unpredictable! All the horses look fit and well. None of them strike me as looking over worked, nor have I seen any evidence of them being so. It's a nice, friendly yard, and one I would happily recommend. If anyone from the yard reads this, I would say you could do with addressing the customer facing side of your set up. I often experience a number of 'customers' waiting around the office to book/pay/check in for lessons and there's no one around for them to speak to, admitedly they don't generally have to wait too long for someone to show up - and I do appreciate juggling horses, riders, hacks out etc. can spead the staff thinly occasionally so it's not a complaint...more constructive critique!
