“Alton Riding School”

I think this is a good place to ride, but maybe not for your first few lessons. However, if you are a beginner and want to start here, try and find an instructor who you like because if you dint like the instructor you wont enjoy the riding.
Two of my friends started riding here about a year ago and they said that the instructor thay had expected them to alredy know all the technical words like girth and stirrups and reins and stuff. They didnt so they got really confused. There's a range of teaching styles, I'm currently taught by Charlotte on a Monday. It's really good fun and she has really improved my riding.
They have a wide range of horses ranging from miniscule Little Charlie and Tommy to enormous Becky and Lulu. The horses are well behaved but if you want a challenge then there are ponies and horses who can present that challenge.
I think that the lessons are mainly on time with no big delays.
This riding school also offers 'Own a Pony Day' where you book a horse or pony and look after and ride it for a day. It's really good fun, I have been 3 times :) They also organise hacks out and about the local area.
Maybe the facilities should be cleaner and maybe in the lessons you could talk about being kinder to your horse because a lot of the riders I see really pull on the horses mouth and it can really hurt the horse. Also some of the girls who help around the yard are cruel to the horses.
Maybe they also ought to have either more small ponies or an age limit because I used to help out sometimes on my friends lesson and there were four year olds riding thje likes of Cagney when there legs didnt even reach the bottom of the saddle.
But overall I think it's a really good Riding School but maybe you should have some experience with horses before you come here.

The pony days are great aren't they!Maybe it would help if you helped on a Saturday or Sunday .And if you want anything when you help out (if you do ) they will always be loads of caring things !
