“Discrimination”

Written on: 26/06/2012

I recentley went for a support workers role when I submitted my CV and was asked in for an interview.
I was very open and honest and told them I had some offences that were 30 years old, (kids stuff) However contrary to there written decleration about not discriminating I was not accepted on the strength of this.
I have 12 years experience in care.
I would have thought that people like this who profess to care about people and who are so very blameless in there own lives would not give anyone a chance to do some good. I have even worked with the police and even they would give me a chance, and were happy with me.
This outlines the discriminatry value of the CRB and how it keeps people out of work. No wonder so many people go back to crime.
I own my own house and have been married for 26 years now, It has been worse the more people want to see the negative side of care and dont appreciate all the good work done, its a nonsense that these are not the only company with these values.
