SomethingWillTurnUp's review of Outsource Plus Recruitment

“No Data Protection”

I am very angry about these people. They found my CV registered on a jobs board, but without contacting me like proper agencies do, they passed it without my knowledge or permission to a third party company about a job vacancy. The first I knew about it was when I got an email from them giving me details about a job interview at a company, with just a job title and no job description or anything and told me that the interview was in two days.

Now, I did not know about this application or any of the processes going on in the background. Agencies are not allowed by law to pass your details on without getting your permission first, but when I tried to complain (a) they would not answer the phone and (b) they did not reply to the emails I sent. The email they sent me was from a live.com address which is very fishy for a "proper" company.

I googled the company where the interview was and it all looked legitimate but I had no way of knowing anything about the job. The email did say who the interview was with and I found the woman on LinkedIn and was able to email her. She did not know anything about the so-called job and said her firm were not recruiting at the moment. She had not heard of Outsource Plus and said it sounded like some kind of set-up. I am very glad I did not register on the Outsource website - they said they had set me up an account on it and wanted me to "verify" my account with my personal details. I think I may have had a lucky escape, especially after reading some of the other reviews on here.

Gisellev.'s Response to SomethingWillTurnUp's Review

It is not just this company, a lot of recruiters do this. And, in addition to recruiters 'stealing' your resume off job boards and passing them on to hiring companies (this could adversely affect you if you on your own apply to said company and they realize you were previously submitted by a recruiter - they may not want to deal with you at all, at that point), there are other reasons not to post your resume to a job board. You will receive A LOT of spam. I mean TONS! Also, a lot of managers feel that people who post their resumes online for all to see lack focus and direction and are 'desperate' for a job. I would avoid posting my resume online in the future.
