Based on both mine and my colleagues experiences, this agency wastes candidates time by applying sneaky methods in gaining contact details of their Company's IT department to build gain business contacts for free. One method they use is as follows: This agency advertises a supposedly “live” role. The candidate then applies for the role in good faith only to find out that the agent has only been interested gathering data and building a profile on a company's IT systems as well as the contact details of the head of IT. As a result instead of the agency representing the candidate for the advertised role or similar ones, the candidate's line manager or the their Head of IT is contacted by this agency with the view of refilling their position or other ones. There is a potential that the agency then gains in at least two ways: i) They have gained valuable business and/or IT systems information from the candidate for free and ii)Possibly gain fees by introducing new candidates to the client. The candidate is then not contacted and gains nothing as their CV isn't put forward for any roles and their precious time is wasted.
