Not good experience with Brook Street - Ashford branch to be exact, telling me one thing and meaning another time and time again not to mention lack of communication and never answering the phone. Also on Google 2 out the the 3 reviews that given Brook Street Ashford a 5 Star rating are people that work there or at least did at the time of the review - of course there gonna give 5 Stars !!! Agents were so bit misleading I must say !!! So yeah there you have it not everything is always black and white as it seems ! Period.

3 months I've been going back and fourth with this company for a TEMPORARY JOB. They wanted UNEDITED BANK STATEMENTS. They even threatened me with fraud for blacking out my personal purchases! They wanted tax returns, tax numbers, passport, ID, Bank Card, National Insurance Card, a 30 page application form, bank statements from 2017. Yes, 2017. Professional references, normal references from 2017... References from a job 6 years ago?! The company doesn't even exist anymore and yet their stupid application process is dead in the water because some dude I put down as a reference from a job I had 6 years ago didn't respond to you?!??!?!?! Are you out of your god damned mind?! What an utterly appalling company. WHEN they get data breached you're going to be a victim of fraud and you'll be doxed. Be sure to invoke your right to erasure under "data protection law, Article 17 of the UK GDPR." It is imperative that you do this. I cannot stress this enough. They are criminally intrusive. It should be illegal.

Great agency, he worked really hard to help secure a job for me. Good communication, professional and very helpful, highly recommend to anyone. He was fantastic.

I would like to say how impressed I was with an advisor at Brook Street Inverness. She was so supportive and helpful and helped me get my new job which I start today . I am so grateful for everything she did and think Brook Street are so lucky to have her. I would definitely recommend this agency to anyone trying to find employment.

I was looking for a full time job and I applied at brookstreet. The agent is amazing at what she does and she does it with great passion and is outstanding at communicating and be fast and efficient in supporting who she is working with. Hands down the best service I have received so far. Would highly recommend!!! Quick email replies, and very constructive and infromative with the replies she gives. Stays on top of helping you find a job and makes sure that you find a job whcih you are happy with. The best agent I have dealt with by far!

I have was a temp contractor through Brook St Inverness in a long term postion for over 2 years, the staff at the Inverness were always so helpful and kept in constant contact to make sure everything was ok with my position and my wages were always in my bank on time and the only time I had an issue it was resolved the same day. I would have no issues in returning to Brook Street Inverness should I ever require to.

I have worked for brook street for a few contracts. My experience of them if they are not great at communicating at all. Many of times their staff have been left in tears, due to their lack of ability to communicate or resolve matters effectively. Especially around PAY regarding overtime. I have been chasing brook street for over 1 month now. The amount of emails I sent that were ignored is truly Astonishing. Brook street lack basic communication skills. They seem to struggle to pick up a phone and call you to resolve anything! They will keyboard warrior you at 9pm, 10pm, but cannot seem to give a simple response during office hours! They need some serious Customer Service training. They never seem to read emails fully, just pick out the parts they feels like reading and answering . Leaving matters unresolved. They seem to lack basic common sense. I am have enjoyed the contracts I have had working for brook street. However, I am happy to not have to deal with brook street again any time soon. Good to get jobs, agency staff incompetent, rude, dismissive.

Don't use Brook Street! They demanded forms of ID and bank statements, hounding me daily for them, I gave everything required then suddenly nothing! Radio silence! Was worried that I'd sent over all these private docs and then didn't hear a word. Was never told properly what the job was or where it would be, had to constantly ask questions about the work and when I'd be starting, then I'm told I'll get a call Sunday night, and a confirmation email about starting on Monday - all evening nothing, good thing I didn't get up to go Monday morning as I heard nothing all day again! If you say you're going to call a client back, you bloody do it! Finally heard something Monday evening, was told again that I would get confirmation and that didn't come through till half 10 Monday night saying yes you're working at 9am Tuesday. Shocking lack of communication unless they need something from you. Also, had to send multiple responses or ID as they couldn't seem to keep track of everything, very frustrating answering the same questions over and over, and when you say you've already answered the questions or sent in something they're asking for again, they are very rude and don't care to listen. Their forms are poorly written and littered with errors, again that made me worried that this agency was not real! If you have any questions they won't pick up the phone or answer emails, absolutely abysmal. DO NOT USE!!

A very bad experience from Brook street, supposedly I done something wrong so this company I worked at via Brook Street didn't want me to come back and at no point did anyone bring this up with me or chatted to me about it ! This went down one Friday afternoon where this company made up their and contacted Brook Street and it was on a Sunday evening almost 9:00pm Brook Street informed me via text message and email not to come in and I get a call in morning from them explaining why !! So I was baffled as to why I was told not to come in, work level reduced maybe ? AND then it came to me, did someone get tested positive for Covid 19 in the office so everyone had to self isolate ? That got me worried as I met several different people over the weekend all on different occasions so yeah I couldn't sleep very well that night with worry !!! I feel Brookstreet didn't fight my corner at all and just given in to the demands of this company - should of at least hear my side of story first by contacting me ASAP - you DO NOT just send me a text message /email the very last minute and give no explanation especially that time of night !!! I actually enjoyed working at this company as a result I turned down a interview a month previous which I wish I didn't as I felt bad if I did go to it - how wrong and stupid was I ? And isn't it strange that agencies like this can just get rid of you with no warning and notice yet if I wanted time off I had to give a weeks notice that's if the manager allows it !! Guess what Brook Street if I ever get to work for you again and I get an interview I call in sick and go to it ASAP - I swear I will do that and will NOT feel bad and I am NOT joking here !!! I can promise you that !! ZERO Stars more appropriate ! Shame on you Brook street for treating people this way !

A series of unfortunate events that led to the worst experience with an agency I have ever had. Unbelievable lack of communication and when they did finally speak to me because their excuses didn't make any sense. One of those situations where everything went wrong and zero responsibility was taken by them. Very embarrassing.

Over heard a discussion whilst on the phone arranging an interview and could hear I was being discussed and laughed about! Realised when I heard the name who it was How rude and unprofessional to discuss a potential client!! Honestly I’ve left a review but I’ll be taking this as high up as possible!! Never have I felt so disappointed in a company!! When they finally called me back I’d decided I wasn’t even interested anymore a women was discussing me and giggling rather loudly and obnoxiously!! If these are the type of people u employ u should be ashamed!! I should actually take this to the papers as I feel like my confidentiality has been breached not to mention GDPR

avoid this company at all cost. They treat candidates absolutely disgracefully. They do not do a job properly. They demand you attend on several occasions due to errors they make making you do two hour round trips. They constantly ask repeatedly for the same Information over and over and you wait months for them to even get references then after all this they pull jobs. In the meantime candidates are losing out on money and other work as they have already accepted these jobs and are being made to do constant trips at their own cost for the mistakes of fools who Cnt do their job properly. They should not be allowed to run as a company I have worked for many recruitment agencies and they have all run smoothly. This company is nothing but a disgusting disgrace. Making people out of pocket when they don’t have money to start off with. Avoid avoid avoid avoid. Save yourself your time and your money and don’t waste it with them. There are plenty of other agencies To use. Only have to look on google to see the terrible 2star rating. I wish I had looked at this at the beginning

They led me on to thinking I were to start a new job role (Peterborough branch) to only make me go in and give all my information such as passport, national insurance etc they told me they were waiting for a ctc check before I start my role (they told me I got the job) . I was going in to the brook street branch for 6 WHOLE MONTHS! for them to stop replying back to my questions. I was extremely happy to get a job (which I thought I was going to start) to only be ignored as if I were nothing!. I emailed several times and called to only be dismissed. Honestly they only want your information to make it seem they're doing their job. DONT' BOTHER WITH THEM!!!

Worst experience I’ve ever had. I would rather claim JSA than apply or work with brook street. Made me give notice to my current employer after false promises and still in the same position. Also taken £25 DBS payment which they are not willing to give back AVOID!

I applied for several jobs advertised by this agency only to find out that the clients they were supposedly advertsing on behalf didn't exist. Don't waste your time and effort. A few days after applying your inbox will be flooded with junk and not job alerts either. No, you get a ton of emails about flight and pills discounts. The staff at the Liverpool branch don't act like recruitment consultants either. They are just basically there to give the agency an air of legitimacy and sound like a bunch of slappers they pulled off the street.

Registered with the Newport office. They put me forward for several positions and I heard nothing! I am not the first person I know to be treated like this, as friends have had similar or worse experiences.

I have lived in a few places over the last few years and have dealt with 3 branches of Brook St, all of which were completely useless! I had to register with the Cardiff branch no less than 3 times!!.....they just 'lost' my details somehow. They also wanted me to pay for clearance in advance of a job they weren't even offering yet. Avoid!

Leeds, 17 Albion Street. I registered at this branch at the beginning of November 17 needing work. I went in asking about a MOJ job that was on their website and I had been told about from a relative that currently works there. I was told over the phone that without a valid passport I wouldn't be eligible for any MOJ jobs. Fair enough. However, the consultant was keen to get me to come down and register any way. I spent an hour online the night before filling in CV details work experience etc based on the email the agency sent me. Took all the documents required including out of date passport but birth certificate to make up for this. I got to the office and had to fill in all the same forms again! Once I had manually filled in all the same forms, you get called to sit at the consultant’s desk to discuss what types of roles you are looking for. This all felt very unprofessional and a bit intimidating. All the other consultants can listen to what you are saying. Maybe it's just me but I didn't feel comfortable. They have a meeting room why not take you in there to discuss job requirements. I went through what I was looking for, based on not been eligible for any MOJ jobs at this time. The consultant said very little and I just felt that I was wasting my time. I was right. I had mentioned prison admin as I didn't want to work in a large open plan office if I could help it. She asked around her colleagues in the office. One couldn’t get his head around smaller office environments and blurted out “what do you mean small offices?” That made me feel as though I had asked for the moon on a stick! The response from the consultant that actually dealt with the prison admin jobs was “no sorry we have people going through the placements we currently have at present. So, nothing available in that line, at this time.” I left the office that day and she was going to ring a few placements she had and get back to me. She didn’t. 1 week after registering a different consultant from Brook Street sent me the weekly job vacancy bulletin. There was a prison admin job on this. I sent my CV to her and said I was very interested. She emailed back saying she would send it to the client. I heard nothing more. I emailed the consultant I signed up with 1 week after this to touch base and ask for an update on the prison admin job. She didn't respond. The week after this I didn't receive the weekly job update bulletin from them either!! I wonder if they get commission JUST for getting people signed up. That would make sense based on my experience with them. They don't have to get me any work, just so long as I signed up with them. “Once your compliant”, was the terminology used by my consultant. I haven't received any text messages for any jobs either, which I remember when she was keen to get me down to the office to sign up; she said I would receive text messages regarding vacancies. Now maybe I am been too hasty as it is only first week in December. However, I was signed up with them back in 2015. It was a similar experience then although much worse this time around. Back then, once they realised my postcode, I was past to the consultant that deals with a large utilities company in my area that uses Brook Street for temps. It was a terrible job and I lasted a couple of months. Luckily I managed to find myself something else. What I found strange back then was that I was covering for someone on long term sick. When she returned to work the staff at the company and my Brook street consultant could not bring themselves to tell me my services were no longer required. It was weird. You know and are told when you take a temp job that the positions can end before the term of the temp contract finishes. This is the only job I ever got with them. Again, back then it just came across as underhand. No communication. If they stop communicating with you hopefully you will get the message eventually. This job agency is not in the business of getting people jobs! Reading the reviews on here confirms this. I wasn’t asked for a DBS check payment at registering thank goodness. But i am in the process of renewing my passport to be eligible for MOJ jobs. An expense I could have done without at this time of year and now realise won’t make any difference anyway. I find it appalling that some branches have charged people for DBS checks and these people have never received work. They are wasting your time and money. Do not bother with them.

Brook Street obtained a temp position for me with Deliveroo. However, subsequent contact with Brook Street has shown them to be unprofessional. I am still owed expenses, which Brook St. emailed me confirming they would pay, 2 and a half months after they were incurred. Emails go unanswered, promises made via telephone are unfulfilled. I do not recommend using this agency.

I first registered with Brook Street a year and half ago - the lady who registered me kept in regular contact with me (although she was very pushy) and eventually got me a job with their head office. Working for them, there weren't many benefits but I came to love my team. We then got made redundant so I was back on the job hunt (I found one without the help of Brook Street as I hadn't heard anything from them since I tried to re-register and get back into their books). I hated this job.. so I went back to Brook Street a little while after, the girl who started looking for jobs for me you could tell she was ONLY about commission. The girl had one job that may interest me asked when I was available and when I said it was very difficult to get time off she replied with 'can you not just pull a sickie or fake a doctors appointment' .... She then organised a phone interview with a company for me without actually confirming with me first (as I was at work so couldn't answer my phone). She then tried to arrange a face to face interview for me, I explained that I had one day already pre booked that I could use to go on this interview 'Ok brilliant, I'll schedule a time and get back to you!'.. A week later I still hadn't heard from her and other commitments came up. She then emailed telling me a time for the interview, I emailed back explaining that because I hadn't heard anything other commitments had come up. I haven't heard from her since. Not even when I emailed letting her know I was back from holiday and back on the job hunt. Nothing. If you don't fit in with them, they'll just ignore and give up on you. Office angels however, MUCH more professional and MUCH less PUSHY!!!!! Stay away from Brook Street. Honestly.
