Bought Ainsley Harriot's roasted vegetables cou cous. Utterly tasteless, not a hint of raosted anything, except perhaps cardboard!

Great food I love the beef in black velvet ale but wish they still made the lasagne. Handy to keep in for when you do not have time to cook and just enough to fill me.

Look what we found. In tai chicken curry, was lucky to find anything that was edible. About three bits of what was meant to be chicken and tai sauce was bland to say the least. Nothing short of disgusting and would never buy it again.

These are cleverly marketed to the 'I don't normally buy ready meals' brigade, including me, they have nice healthy sensible looking packaging, ahaha, how can you have cooked chicken breast pieces that take two minutes in the microwave, when they've been sat in the cupboard for at least a month? What chemical witchcraft allows this to happen? Don't think about all that nasty stuff if you are going to eat it, because you will gag, like I did.

I first discovered "Look What We Found" years ago when they only sold direct on-line and loved everything I tried. I'm a keen cook and I don't usually buy ready meals but I was going on a camping trip (I HATE camping) and "Look What We Found"'s food was the only thing that made the trip bearable. BUT - BUT - BUT - since the company got in cahoots with the big supermarkets the quality, quantity and variety has gone down hill very badly. Since being thrilled to see them in Sainsbury's and then disappointed when I ate what I'd bought, I have stopped buying Look What We Found products. It seems they are now working down to the supermarkets' price and forgetting about their original ethos. I wonder if they have sold out to a big conglomerate?

I generally avoid ready meals, but I forgot my lunch. Picked up the chilli as it was £1 from Sainsbury's and it was Gluten Free (I'm a coeliac). It was a handy work lunch, but nothing outstanding. Getting it out of the packet was easy enough, but a little messy. The meat:bean ratio was unfairly bean-biased, and there was no real stand-out taste. The texture wasn't pleasant - grainy bits of meat. Normal price from Sainsbury's was £1.99. Next time, I'm remembering my soup!

Recently bought the tees valley beef meatballs and Staffordshire chicken tikka. The packaging clearly shows a bowl full of the contents, however inside the pouch was mainly filling and hardly any meat. The chicken tikka, although spicy-ish, contained only very bland tasting chicken and I could only find four actual pieces. The meatballs were even worse, I counted at least six on the label picture but on,y found four in the pouch, all swamped in a sauce that was so rich I ended up with indigestion for a good 14 hours. Needless to say, I complained to the company. I was really hoping these meals would be something special but unfortunately...theyre not. :-(

Purchased the creamy porridge, it has the consistency of wallpaper paste, there is no texture to the food at all, the closest comparison is butterscotch angle delight, most strange. When checking the ingredients I note that this only contains 7% Oats, and 41% water and milk, this is unbelievable! if you put 7% oats in a bowl and add water and milk etc you would not get a very edible breakfast. I find the whole packaging and marketing of these products a real deceit, picture of the farmer on the packet, etc etc. inside is what appears to be chemical gloop. I'm not the only one that thinks this, we all had these at work one morning and they all ended up in the bin.

I bought a number of these meals for a five day backpack in Knoydart, Scotland. They were excellent for this purpose and, with a bag of rice between two, really did the trick at the end of a long hard day in the hills. I would definitely recommend for outdoor pursuits but don't think I would buy them for use at home. The only downside is the packs are rather heavy for lightweight backpacking. However, you would need to weigh the benefits of going lighter with having a good nutritious meal at the end of the day.

Not much mutton in here although the ingredients says 30%. Taste is not up to a stew wholeness and all in all a disappointing experience - and quite expensive to boot. There are many other long-life meal packages at better value and taste out there, so this is one to avoid. Nice picture on the package though!

Inedible - I enjoy a huge range of flavours and this was uttterly disgusting - went down the sink!

I was unimpressed by the beef and potato packet. The bag was somewhat underfilled and the contents did not fill a smallish bowl. The meat was good quality and well cooked, but in short supply. There were just a few small cubes, the rest of the bag being made up with the potatoes. The sauce was OK, but was over-flavoured with stock. - it smothered the taste of the other ingredients.
For £3 I was expecting a more substantial meal - the picture on the packet must have been taken in a very small dish.
On the plus side - good quality ingredients, easy to prepare and serve, keeps well.

I discovered Look what We Found one lunchtime in Waitrose looking for a sandwich alternative. The chicken and lemon thyme soup is lovely and makes such a change from cream of chicken or soups laden with vegetables as it is a thin but flavoursome treat. I've also tried the beef stew and lamb hotpot both plenty for a main meal but not high in calories. My step dad recently took a load to France skiing as he didn't have a fridge to store any food and only a kettle and microwave to cook with. Worth checking out as they make great store cupboard supplies (perfect when you're ill and can't cook!)

I have taken several varieties of these Look What We Found Ready Meals on motorcycle trips into Europe when I have been camping and although they are not cheap, with some rice or pasta they make a really quick, easy and pleasant meal that is easy to prepare while I relax with a beer after the tent and sleeping bag are all set up. My only real gripe would be that as I like meat, they do tend to be a bit mean on this element of the meal! I get them from Morrisons though I will try some of the online flavours too for when I go again next Spring. They are much better quality than the Wayfarer range I found for less money. Recommended.
