“I wish more stations were like this”

I can't say enough good things about StrangeWays Radio. A friend who shares musical tastes with me introduced me to the station a few months back, and I'm hooked. It plays music you can't find played anywhere else. I especially enjoy the Black Planet and Vicious Pink shows by DJ Pinknoise on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. She always caps her programs with these gems that are rare, quirky or both. I also am a fan of the Halcyon Waves and Sound & Visions shows, too. Another fun feature... (read more)

“All the music that I like in one location!”

Just about all radio stations today (terrestrial, satellite, internet) suffer from the same problem: predictability. Even the ones that play music that I like rarely surprise me. But Strangeways is different. It's what a radio station used to (and ought to) be: a place where people whose taste I trust bring in new discoveries that they're passionate about, and share them with me. “Strangeways Radio: The Best Choice for Britpop /...”

This is by far my favorite online radio station. The perfect source for Britpop / Shoegaze / New Wave. I'm constantly introduced to great new music and new artists when I listen to their station, and they frequently have shows DJ'd by musicians and knowledgeable fans. As I'm writing this review, their last 12 songs have included these artists: Halou, Friendly Fires, Massive Attack, Longview, South, Ian Brown, Tears for Fears, a-Ha, Rumskib, Hooverphonic, Arcade Fire, and Depeche Mode.... “The station i've been wating for”

I have been looking for a station that plays triphop and shoegaze forever, and now I have found it. Strangways plays an amazing variety of dreampop, trip hop, shoegaze, indie, electronica and plenty of alternative classics. The station is commercial free and it's pretty much the only thing that I listen to these days. I have been looking for a station like this for a long time and i'm hooked! (read more)
