On week 6 after having stopped smoking on day 13. Don`t be kidded that you don`t need willpower - you need some. I have to say though that they certainly do take the edge off the craving and anxiety. I have been smoking 20+ a day for 20 years. I have tried giving up once approx 5 years ago and used NRT and on that occasion quit for 10 weeks. I agree with most people on here that champix do seem effective. I got to day 13 and thought that they weren`t working. When I actually quit it turned out that they were ! The only side effects I have had are some vivid dreams and some nausea in the first few weeks.A few side effects are worth it if it means giving up something that in all probability will shorten your life. I also suspect that some people reporting quite severe side effects are confusing those effects with the effects of nicotine withdrawl which is a very addictive drug in itself.
