Malham village is very picturesque and in my opinion, the Buck Inn makes too much a killing on the 100's of walkers and day trippers to the area. Paying £3.40 for a blackcurrant and lemonade (cordial and machine lemonade) is half the price of a ham sandwich. Really is overkill and when asked if the price is correct the reply "I know, but I'm afraid the price is right" says it all. 10oz Steak sounded nice but at £21.95 I would have expected the sauce to come with it .... no, that is an... Hello 123 Bigglad, What a 'Rip Off ' this Buck Inn at Malham seems to be. Being situated in such a beautiful area, I have no doubt why Malham has so many walkers and visitors to the area, and of course, what a better opportunity for the Buck Inn to take advantage them. The premises may well be friendly, and the food reasonable in quality to eat. However, have you ever stopped to think of how much money the Buck Inn are making on a bottle of their blackcurrant refreshments. At the price you mention, there is no justification for them charging this amount for a refreshment of this kind. Quite clearly it is licensed extortion. I wouldn't pay that amount if I was in the grounds of Buckingham Palace, if I was in attendance at one of Her Majesty's Garden Parties. Well prepared 'picnic baskets' can be as much enjoyable as a pub meal and also fun in such beautiful surroundings as Malham. You are not bound to support 'Rip Off' merchants anywhere, so next time you go on your walk and you can not make up your mind on where to go for a meal, then at least you have the option to 'Pass the Buck'. Give it a try and see how much better off you will all be in your pockets. I wouldn't put up with such 'Buck Inn' prices when on the Malham walk.
