Having been told not renting privately was better as your rights were better protected I rented a property thru surelet, the only thing theyre competent at is signing you up after that your on your own! we had a home with black, wet walls which over a period of year nothing was done about after numerous inspections and comlaints. We ended up getting enviromental health who all but condemned it unless work was carried out, it was all smiles when they were there and nothing after. When we moved out the landlord claimed compensation against us! Surelet said they didnt represent the tenant and now we have to fight for our deposit, no help from surelet and no idea how to fight our corner.
