Over the last few years I have had experience of renting from several different agencies and, I'm sorry to say, that Surelet has been by far the worst!
I should've realised the level of staff ineptitude I would subsequently have to endure when they failed to bring any keys to the initial viewing of the property I later rented from them. However, at that stage I was still prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt....
Overall, I would rate their communication skills as extremely poor. It took me over 6 months of repeated phone calls in order to obtain a full set of keys for my property and, on one occasion, the member of staff dealing with my query refused to take my call on the basis that they 'hadn't sorted it out' so had nothing new to tell me!
My final warning to all prospective tenants would be to read your contract very carefully. There are several sneaky and unusual charges hidden in there. Perhaps the most irritating of all of these is the 'final inventory fee'. This essentially means that you have no chance of receiving a full refund of your deposit as, even if you leave the property in immaculate condition, they will deduct £60 directly from your deposit as their fee for performing this standard inspection!!

I also endure keys being lost on an early viewing (I only did about 3 viewings total). I also gave them the benefit of the doubt. I would also rate their communication skills as "extremely poor" - if you call completely ignoring e-mails and making slanderous comments , verbally and in writing, and misquoting and misunderstanding the laws surrounding their work 'communication'. It took me 10 months to get heating to half the land area repaired, months to replace rusting, exploding hob rings, years (2.3) before having a proper hot water supply (and now it is near scalding, as the tank is too small for ONE PERSON). I have also had my call refused on the basis that a landlord had been prioritised over my 18-month-outstanding complaint, even though I had been kept waiting through two calls by then, saying they were just about to call me. The person I then spoke to (who couldn't handle complaint) then refused to take down details of it, was sarcastic and rude, and slammed the phone down on me. Some two days later, I was received an e-mail saying I was verbally abusive on this recorded call, was bullying the letting agent, and had caused the member of staff I spoke to, to burst into tears. My final warning to all prospective tenants would also be to read your contract carefully. It says you cannot fix anything to the interior of the property - this means you cannot hang pictures. i have not yet checked for hidden and sneaky charges, but I don't believe a 'final inventory fee' can be taken out of a deposit which is merely there to cover loss or damage to the landlord's property, and I will check my tenancy and comment again if I find such lauses in it.
