In my opinion, the other residents and I have suffered four years of misery dealing with Mainstay Residential. The residents of our block of flats applied to the LVT in 2010 for a determination of our issues. They decided it was not reasonable for them to make such high charges as part of the estate management. However they did also conclude that most of the individual items under the three service charge heads (apartment charges, car parking charges and estate charges) were not unreasonable and the leaseholders accepted that many of the charges were not excessive.
We have recently met with the Estate Manager to discuss our issues (February 2013). In my opinion appointing Mainstay as managing agent should be avoided. In my opinion, if you want an easy life, run the management of your flats yourself, its simpler than you might think.
