“Guaranteed delivery means nothing”

★☆☆☆☆

written by birdlodge on 18/09/2014

I needed to send a driving license to my son, he was on a fly drive holiday to Vancouver, Canada and forgot his license, oh dear! I trusted UPS, bad mistake!
I sent the package on 29 August and they guaranteed delivery by mid-day on 2 Sept. I did ask the person on reception what happened if it didn't arrive, trust me it will he said!!

It left that evening for east Midlands Airport and duely arrived in Philadelphia USA the following day. It then went to Kentucky USA on 31st Aug where it stayed for 50 hours, yes 50 HOURS. It then arrived in Seattle on 2nd Sept and then onto Vancouver having an import scan at 7.36 am. It was very near it's destination but didn't arrive until the following day on 3rd Sept ONE DAY LATE.

I queried the lateness with UPS and they said it was clearing customs and they couldn't do anything about it. I asked why the long route to Canada when there are so many direct flights each day to Vancouver. They said that is there route to Canada and they couldn't do anything, despite it costing me over £45.

My advise, go elsewhere if possible
