Never again will I have anything shipped UPS. They are irresponsible.
UPS used to be a reliable source of shipping. NOT anymore!
I tried to reach customer service by phone when I did not receive my package of photos from Shutterfly. It is nearly impossible to get them on the phone.
I tracked the package since it left Shutterfly. I watched diligently for it and knew the day it should be here. HOWEVER, I didn't receive it when UPS said it had been delivered to our house, front door, at 6:08 p.m. on July 17, 2012. My husband and I were on the front steps when they say they delivered it! But there was no UPS truck in our neighborhood. We live on a short street so it was not even on our street!
I got zero satisfaction from the phone call - they refused to investigate, no apologies, no nothing! So I called Shutterfly and without any hassle whatsoever they said they would reorder at no charge AND send next day air to me! I asked if they had numerous complaints about UPS and they said yes.
I then decided to write an email to customer service at UPS.
Here is what I wrote to them:
You need to get your driver on the ball who delivers to 904 S. Virginia Lane! There is NO way that our address could be mistaken. We did NOT receive the package that he claims to have delivered here at this address. We were outside in front where he claims to have delivered it to the front door.... he did NOT. I had to contact the sender (supplier) and they are going to replace the order but this does not help that UPS is delivering packages to the WRONG address. This is poor customer service.
Here is what UPS wrote back:
Thank you for your e-mail. I have checked the status of tracking number 1ZV065700352545565in our tracking system. Our records indicate that your shipment was delivered on 07/17/12 at 6:08 PM to your address. This package was delivered as addressed.
I am sorry you have not been able to locate your shipment. Please check the general area and ask any other occupants if they received your shipment. If you are still unable to locate the missing items, we strongly suggest that you contact your shipper to initiate a package investigation. Shippers are encouraged to report lost packages because receivers may not have all the shipment information needed to perform a thorough investigation. In addition, claim notification letters are not sent to receivers. All claims are settled with the shipper.
However, if you prefer to initiate the investigation yourself online, you need to be a registered ups.com user. If you have not registered with ups.com, simply select the Register link in the right column once you are prompted to log-in.
