Ukmail is the worst delivery company I have come across. They sent me an email on Friday morning to say they would deliver a parcel during a one hour slot at lunchtime. However there was no way of responding to it to tell them at I wouldn't be in and to either leave it in a safe place, with the neighbour or rearrange delivery. I then had a further email to say that they had been unable to delivery and instructions on how to re-arrange.
As I was passing near to their depot in Stafford today I decided collection would be the easiest option, however it took 45 minutes and an I am not leaving until I know when I am going to get my parcel stance to collect the parcel. Firstly I had a ten minute wait whilst they were unsuccessfully trying to locate another customer's parcel which was last seen heading north to Warrington but unheard of since and they were unable to track!
I then waited a further twenty minutes before being told that they couldn't find my parcel and it must be out for delivery but they couldn't contact the driver. I was asked to leave a phone number for contact but refused and asked to see the manager as I was not going to leave until I knew when I would receive my parcel. Fifteen minutes later the same person came out with the parcel which they had just found!!. Despite being clearly labelled “fragile” it looked like it had been dropped. Fortunately nothing broken. I just wonder if I had not made a stance whether I would ever have received the parcel. Still I am better off than the man whose parcel headed into oblivion on the way to Warrington. Apparently his response from customer service was case closed, put in a claim. What a shambles of a company.
