I shall NEVER be using Shiply again, and I'll warn others to avoid them like the plague! I accepted a bid by a courier and Shiply charged me £10 fee plus £8 hidden fee. Now the refuse to refund my payment. Totally unacceptable. (read more)

Shiply is a great idea in principle. However, it is not very transparent (the 'deposit' you pay as a user simply goes into Shiply's pockets, in addition to their own service fee, which in my case led to disagreement with the courier, since I was convinced they'd received more than they said). Also, beware trying to claim your money back if things go wrong. Finally, don't trust all of the reviews out there - Shiply's PR is heavily managed, with at least one website (shiply-reviews) being... (read more)

Very disappointed with this company. Upon reporting a problem with the courier ( basically an inability to return calls and not turning up when promised) Shiply had absolutely zero interest in following up my complaint/concern and just wanted to re book me with another courier Having then agreed to cancel the transaction, they have offered me a credit on my next purchase...I explained that I will not be using them again so a credit is valueless!! The response has been a... (read more)

I tried to use Shiply and having spoken to the winner bidder changed my mind because I didn't feel confident in the service. The bidder had the wrong address for the goods to be delivered to. He told me Shiply sent incorrect information sometimes. I cancelled the transaction and was told that I can't have my deposit back. The terms and conditions say you can only have a credit for the next delivery. Why should e had the wrong person down to receive the goods. He told me that Shiply sends... (read more)

Watch out and do not part with any money on Shiply. If there are any problems - like your transporter cancelling which they seem to do often - they will keep your deposit and not refund you. I'll be reporting them to trading standards. (read more)

We advertised our house move on shiply, needing to move our furniture from harrogate to devon by 5th of november. We received numerous quotes and accepted one for £920, for which we paid a deposit of £206. After several days we had no contact from the removal firm we had chosen, so we rang them, but got no answer, and emailed them but again got no answer. As we were getting very close to moving day we organised a local man to move our stuff. When we asked Shiply for our money back they... (read more)

How this company ever managed to receive any "business awards" I have no idea and I would urge anyone who is considering using them to do so at their own risk. If this review saves just one person from losing money by using this company then my job is done ;) It works like this; You place an advert in their auction style service for a transport provider, the transport providers (who are unverified by the way) give you quotes which you have the option of accepting. Once accepting you then... (read more)

This is really a great website. I suppose the success of your delivery ultimately depends on the courier you choose. Do as much research as you can and look at courier websites and feedback on Shiply. (read more)

If you use Shiply to find a white van man to collect or deliver goods your have purchased, beware. You go to the website, input your request for a courier to collect your goods, they send quotations and you accept a quotation. At the moment you accept the quotation, you have to pay a deposit (which the website suggests goes to the courier but in fact is trousered by Shiply as their fee) and another fee (which is not explained in advance but is in fact a % of the cost of the shipment, which... Same experience here. They are dreadful and I only wish I had googled them before using them. Damn!
I'll be reporting them to Trading Standards on Monday as it is too late to do it today. Did you get any good pointers?
Also the fee they charge is supposed to be 50% for them and 50% for the delivery guy. If the service has not been provided there is no reason why they should keep any of this money. Some comments in other sites also say they are doctoring the ratings!
