I order items regularly from the US into the UK and unfortunately because the US sender uses USPS (American Postal Service) to dispatch items, those items always come into the UK via Parcelforce. There are usually customs charges on the items ordered. Because I became aware that Parcelforce posts out 'request for customs charge payments' very late I always track my items actively and always know once they reach my local Parcel depot and awaiting customs charge payments.

I always call to make these payments, Parcelforce customer service always promises me over the phone that I will receive my delivery before 5.30pm on the next day. It rarely happens that I receive my items on the next day and usually I have to stay home all day because of the wide band of delivery time (9am to 5.30pm)

My most recent order which I paid a customs charge for on the 16th of October had exactly the same issue. Once they had taken the payment, my tracking history said "Delivery scheduled". I waited home all day on the 17th and called Parcelforce twice. They promised I will receive the item that day but I did not. Checking the tracking history on my item, the update now said my item was actually at another depot instead of my local depot, It then said that the item was collected by the addressee (i.e myself) and then it said, addressee advised to collect from depot - which makes no sense how can the address have collected the item and then after collection been advised to collect!?

Then there have been another 8 senseless updates to my tracking subsequent to all these false details, all the whle parcelforce customer service pretending not to be able to see my tracking history and saying the item will be with me shortly. I ultimately gave up knowing that I would not be receiving my item and now I probably will never receive it. Meanwhile I have spent over £150.00 on the item with mi apologies or update from Parcelforce about the true status of my item. What a useless bunch and waste of space for a company. Everyone who works there should be ashamed.
