We contracted with Montway to ship our car from California to Connecticut. Pickup was scheduled for four days ago. While Montway has been helpful and pleasant to deal with, their subcontractors have been just the opposite. This is not my first shipping experience. In the past I have shipped a car and a boat cross country. So I know what to expect. Because of the terrible customer experience with Montway's subcontractors, I would never use or recommend Montway again. (read more)

The first thing that I noticed that set aside Montway Auto Transport from everyone else was that you could get an automatic quote online. This was nice because I didn't get emails that cluttered my inbox like I did from all of the other companies. Plus, you can get a discount if you pay cash/money order/cashiers check. I am a happy, repeat customer. I have had my car transported from Illinois to Florida the last 2 years. Two of my friends intend to use Montway next year, based on my recommendation. The pricing is very fair. The only 'glitch' is the timing of pickup and delivery. This year the pickup time in Florida changed 3 or 4 times, which left me very uncertain about my plans. Was super easy to get our shipping date set-up. The team spoke with me late into the night so we could get the date that we wanted for pickup. The trucking team arrived on time and were careful with the car as they loaded it. Delivery took a little hand-holding as far as directions were concerned but it was not bad at all. I have never shipped a car before and the process seemed daunting at first. I cruised over to uship where I was instantly dumped a ton of information. All the shipping options seemed credible on the website with 100-200 ratings averaging 3.5 - 4 out of 5 stars. Then a specific company stood out. Montway had 2000+ reviews averaging 4.5 stars! The pickup experience went well. The estimated delivery time was a wide range, and my car arrived towards the end of that time. On the day of delivery the driver told me he would arrive in a couple of hours, but it took a few hours longer than that. He had trouble communicating and parked about a half mile from my place. The pick up that I scheduled was on the day that I selected and I did receive the vehicle the very next business day. the driver delivering the vehicle was extremely courteous as well as complimentary as to the vehicle and it's condition. Although the vehicle had brake issue the driver helped me in every way possible to offload the vehicle safely and to not risk damage to it. I heard Montway was the best with great customer service, and after having used them the other reviewers are right. They picked up the car and delivered it cross country updating me all along the way. Everyone I talked to from the company was polite and understanding as well as informed, and e-mails were always answered quickly. They were friendly, communicative, and delivered as promised with no issues. I thought I paid for a pick and delivery to a specified location and knew delivery could change due to street conditions, street size and otherwise. However my desired drop off location and alternate drop off location was not lived up to. It took less than a week to get a car from Chicago to the Bay Area (which was helpful for me). Their pickup/dropoff estimates were very good (but note, they only give you 12-24 hours notice for each, so you have to be prepared). And compared to other options, the cost was quite good. I would have given 5 stars but the driver was a bit unorganized and then proceeded to be rude after he failed to inform us when he would deliver the car. Montway arranged for an enclosed 1-car transporter to deliver my car, which meant that it was a point-to-point trip, with no loading/unloading my car to allow other cars to be loaded or unloaded (as on a semi). It took a few days to get the pickup done, but the car was in my hands 12 hours after pickup.
