Despite having a beautiful whistles-and-knobs website, once the parcel is despatched it is impossible to change the delivery details without the calling card number... which is only available after the delivery has been missed.
I ordered from Amazon, DPD emailed me in the middle of the night to say that the parcel MUST be signed for, and can only be delivered on a working day. The website invited me to change delivery details (to another working day, or to leave with a neighbour, or in a safe place) but I cannot use the parcel reference number, I can only access the change-delivery service with the calling card number, to be left but the delivery person when I have missed the first delivery.
How stupid is that??
And it is IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with them. I finally found a customer service number doing some deep diving into Google. I have spent a whole hour this morning trying to contact them, trying to get the delivery changed or upgraded, trying to get the parcel left somewhere else.
Stupid annoying frustrating insulting service from DPD.
When I did finally get through to someone, she was charming, apologetic, and apparently embarrassed that her whole working day involves apologising for these frustrations and upsets.
My Googling this morning has revealed that DPD are well known for there rubbish service.
I would never recommend this company, and if I had the choice I shall not order from anyone who uses this company.
