DHL is the worst delivery company out there. Previously they have contacted me to tell me that they can not deliver my package because they don't recognise the post code and I will have to pick their parcel up from their depot. So I have paid for delivery and have ended up having to drive to get it. I live in a major UK city so how they can't recognise my postcode is beyond me.
On this occasion I paid for expediated international delivery and for a tracking code. The final date for delivery was supposed to 17/02/2012. The tracking number didn't work until 15/02/2012 mainly because they hadn't done anything with the package until this point. So two days before the final delivery date they decided to ship my package from America even though they must realise that packages take ages to go through customs. I was then contacted today - one day after the final date for delivery to pay customs charges. On payment of the charges I will then need to wait another 2-3 working days to receive my package. The earliest I will now receive it will be 21/02/2012 however judging by my past experiences this will also be late. I have sent 3 emails and have received no response.
For a long time I would not have placed a personal order with DHL I would only use them when they were the delivery company used by certain websites. Now I am going to avoid any company which ships with DHL. I have been left out of pocket and have missed too many birthdays because of DHL's utter incompetence. It really does shock me that they are still in business.
