My DSH tabby boy Asbo has just been transported by the PassportforPets team (part of Airsupply) from the UK and is currently in quarantine in Christchurch for the next 10 days before he can join me in his new home here in New Zealand.
Having read round on the export of animals I knew what the likely costs were going to be and I have come in under them by a nice margin, so the service is value for money. You can get them to do everything or you can do some of the legwork yourself and save money.
The paperwork for transporting an animal is daunting, but I felt all the way that if I had any questions I could ask the team and they would either know or would help me find the answer. Between them and the export vet I found in Wisbech, I was able to do many of the aspects of the paperwork myself, thereby reducing the costs.
When I expressed a bit of (reasonable) anxiety that Asbo was going to be leaving several days after my departure, and he would be staying in a cattery I would have no chance to inspect, I was reassured to hear from one of the staff she sent her kitty there for holidays.
Although they could have picked Asbo up from Cambridgeshire, we chose to transport him ourselves, and the office was easy to find (great instructions, better than the sat-nav). I felt that there was individual interest in my animal, he wasn't just another piece of freight to shift.
The transport crate was magnificent, and I am sure my boy appreciated it once he got used to it (in fact I am told he was reluctant to leave it at the other end!).
Overall, I would recommend this company for anyone wanting to transport a special furry friend across the world!
