I got Post Office Travel Insurance for a recent holiday to Spain with some friends. When phoned up to cancel the renew. Policy was £243 said they could do reduce it to £209. No thanks, can get same cover for £195.

Fair do's to all travel insurance it is only useful for medical and emergency services - if you want to claim for personal belongings check your home insurance covers you - its a better deal. Since using the Post Office travel Insurance for the first time 4 year ago, my husband and I use it every year. I ended up in hospital in France for 2 week and the service couldn't have been better. Post Office Travel Insurance refused to pay although I have a doctors note ( £15) they insist on two notes from Ryanair ( £15 each) for each flight I haven't flown on. How could I fly, I have a doctors note, clearly stating I was unable to travel. A cancellation note from the car hire company although I didn't cancel this as I only knew the day of the holiday I wouldn't be able to use it.
