Porsche is a luxury sports car manufacturer and possibly the car brand most synonymous with status, prestige and high performance than any other in the world. The company was originally founded in Germany in 1931 by engineer Ferdinand Porsche who was also the man who designed the first Volkswagen. Porsches cars since then have an untouchable reputation for superb handling and high performance which has been built up consistently over more than 70 years.



For many years the only Porsches available were sensual looking sports cars but in recent years Porsche has expanded its range to include other types of vehicles including SUVS. Several Porsches, including the 911, are what many people generally think of when they think of a sports car. The company is also notable for its ability to remain fiercely independent with most of its production still contained in Germany. The first Porsche was the Porsche 64 introduced in 1938 which shared many features with the VW Beetle. As of 2007 current models include the sporty Cayman S which manages a top speed of 171 mph.

    by far the best car i`ve had. only problem i had was that the rear plastic window cracked due to freezing weather. had this replaced by a company called trimmtech for £150.     I bought the car knowing nothing about 996s having previously owned Audi's S2 BMWs 5s and a 350Z. My first impressions during my drive home was how fragile the car felt.. that feeling like if you pushed it something would go wrong.

    Porsche 996 turbo amazing car comfortable to drive long distance 20+ mpg 195 mph excellent build quality a real head turner bad point people stop speeking to you but who gives a s**t i love it
