I recently bought a 42" Plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST30B from Distric Electricals. At first I was sceptical about buying from an Internet based company but the customer service was excelent. The TV arrived the day after order and was as described. The Picture looks great for DVD's, and HD content. Not so great on SD channels through the in built freeview tuner, but that is likley due to the signal. Overall, very happy with the TV and with the service I received.
The Panasonic Viera TX-P42ST30B plasma TV is a sight to behold; talk about class, elegance and functionality. This model features the ever popular NeoPlasma panel with 1920x1080 HD resolution, 4 HDMI inputs and a Freeview tuner. This provides viewers with an experience that is almost lifelike via its 3D technology. The TXP42ST30B packs a huge 600Hz sub field drive in the Viera range which coupled with its intelligent Frame Pro technology, helps deliver fluid motion when switched on. The Viera technology incorporated into this range helps prevent and suppresses the jerky effect witnessed in movies. This technology also helps to enjoy music, sports, games on a large screen with excellent images as well as greater clarity in full HD glory.
Although this TV has all the major functions and features of a typical HD TV, it is affordable and an amazing value for such quality pictures. A review from Pixmania noted that the sound quality wasn’t great and therefore to bring it to life a home cinema system would be needed. Users on this same site thought it was a budget TV however and good value for money at that price. Another user on Very.co.uk described the quality of the pictures as being superior to most LCD or LED as it produces deep blacks and very Sharp striking images. On the Amazon website, most users felt it was an affordable type and a budget end TV considering how well it works in comparison with similar models at that price. Meanwhile, other users still had the view the TV was lacking in certain features like DNLA networking although this wasn’t a recurring issue for most. Another advantage this TV provides a user is its ability to play games with 3D content. This seemed to be a hit amongst game lovers who were able to play their Xboxes or PS3.
The distracting shift in brightness as a user described on the Amazon website seemed to contrast what most users advised in regards to the clarity and quality of pictures. However, overall reviews have been fairly positive and encouraging so this is definitely a model to go for if one doesn’t want to be completely out of pocket.
