I was looking for images to put inside of a book I had written...and I'm picky so the images had to be perfect. I've been using Dreasmtime for over five years. Mostly, it's to find a picture to support a blog posting I am doing, and I find that their pricing and licensing model is perfectly suited to that. A well organized stock library with a good search facility having photos and illustrations together gives some interesting alternatives. Only down side is that credits expire before they are used if you are not a regular user - which makes the real cost higher. I would prefer a straight $ cost and to be able to pay with PayPal. I logged in to find that unused credits I purchased last year had expired. I sent an email to customer support asking if the expired credits could be reinstated. I accidentally purchased a smaller-than-needed image so after the fact had to buy the larger version as well. I emailed Dreamstime to ask if I could have the "mistake" purchase credited to me. I was expecting to get the run-around or at the very least to have to wait several days for a response, but much to my surprise and delight I received an email - and refund - within the hour. Great Customer Service and is located in the U.S. Minus 2 stars for labelling picture information. Many developers don't want to waste time creating accts. just to show their customer 1 pic they may have found so they save a copy w/ the companies watermark and image number usually is the file name. In this case the file name is not the image id and that makes it almost impossible to find again...after wading thru 5 more pages of 200 on a page..I gave up and sent the image to your customer... They had a lot of images of black birds, which is what I needed. I have not searched for other things, but when I sent emails asking for help, they replied right away. Customer service was excellent. Strongly recommend dealing with this company. The one problem I had was understanding the points system. I did not realize that the bigger the image the more points. 72 dpi is far from good resolution. In terms of accepting photos from new photographers they are the toughest in the industry. It appears they're trying to sell low quality photos from their established staff of photographers, while blocking out all newbies.

The menu is extremely intuitive, the word search is precise and the final cost options come as a pleasant surprise. The prices are more reasonable, the selection is better, and we appreciate the flexibility of purchasing time-based subscriptions or incremental credit packages. This was my first time using the site and so far so good. The site was easy to navigate and kept all the important information (ie:royalty free or not, prices) right where you'd expect to find it. What surprised me was a response to my review the very next morning. They explained the reasoning behind some of my suggestions for improvement and continued to follow up to make sure I was happy. Expired credits can be reinstated at request so you need to contact support and ask them to extend them. You can pay by PayPal for Dreamstime download plans. The accepted payment methods are credit card, Paypal and bank transfer/wire (for the last option you need to call (+1) 615-771-5611.
