After moving house thought I would try a different landline provider and found a good (cheap!) deal from Post Office Home Phone. I was particularly interested in the low rental amount and all-inclusive mobile charges. Sign-up was easy and an appointment was arranged between 1-6pm one afternoon. The promised welcome pack didn't arrive which was meant to contain my new phone number, however I presumed it would come later. So I took the afternoon off work and the engineer didn't arrive. I rang up twice and was promised a call-back which didn't happen and then they refused to call me back, which meant holding on for 12 minutes on my pay as you mobile until I gave up. I rang them up up today expecting an explanation and apology, only to be told the engineer did come and no-one was at home! When I said I was cancelling I was told I needed to be transferred to the terminations department - needless to say I put the phone down and will be looking elsewhere. If this is what they are like in sales mode, good luck to anyone who actually pays money to them for a service! Don't touch with a very long bargepole.
