Sharpiw201's review of BT

“Avoid at all costs!”

written by Sharpiw201 on 05/10/2015

We ordered BT on the 29th November 2014 to be installed on the 22nd December when we moved into our new property. Before the installation we had several ‘yes we will be coming and no we won’t on the 22nd December.’ I rang on the 21st December and they confirmed that they will be coming. Lo and behold the engineer did not turn up at this time after my partner had taken the day off as holiday. We raised a complaint with BT’s resolution team and ‘due to the time of year’ we would not hear anything until the 29th December. On the 29th December we had a phone call to say that the exchange had not be connected and we would not get an update until the 19th January! On 19th January still not connected at the exchange with a further update on the 27th January! On the 29th January we are finally connected at the exchange – however we still don’t have a phone port in our house just a cable that the builder has supplied…. BT now have to re-raise the order so that we can get this part of the phone line installed with an engineer due to arrive on the 16th Feb, however we receive a knock at our door on the 12th Feb at 6pm... It’s the BT engineer to fit our phone port! He promptly fits the port and I direct him to our neighbours as well because they are having difficulties with BT too. 16th Feb comes around and our phone line is active but still no broadband we will have the wait a further 48 hours for that! 18th Feb – WE FINALLY HAVE BROADBAND – but, there is a but – it drops every so often and the speed is sporadic. We were told this would be a settling issue and should rectify itself after 10 days. It is now the 5th of October and 3 routers/countless phone calls to BT later with still don’t have a reliable broadband connection. So if you want months of pure broadband torture by all means go with BT, if you don’t however, choose another provider!
