I wanted to update my credit card info online. The website did not accept the update and I chatted twice online, also called CS 3 times. They advised me to install random browsers until I find one that would accept the update. One of the reps asked me to remember my address from 7 years ago and laughed at me refusing to update the account which they charge to earn money. I canceled the account after 8 years. This business became a sorry excuse of what they used to be in the past. They deserve to go belly up as the quality of their service and customer experience is ridiculous. I wish I canceled months ago.

..the sad thing is that one by one once customers begin to walk away from your business is a chain reaction very difficult to stop, people talk, they share opinions, they complain, etc,..and Uniontelecard is now regarded as one of those companies that got big and forgot about their clients. Customer service is terrible, you call for help and they have no clue what's going on and/or how to help you, it's either that or they put you on speaker-phone (you can actually hear the laughs in the background) while you try to explain what the problem is, and once you're done explaining they reply with a question completely unrelated to what you just said, clear way to let you know they don't listen. It's been a few good years with this company, but I'm taking my business somewhere else. When I'm paying for a service I don't need to be treated like I should be begging for attention or like I'm being handed the service for free.

Terrific rates all over the world-- I've used this to call from the USA to South Korea, Japan, Hawaii, Guam, Singapore, England and all over the US. Very low per-minute rate with no inactivity charge, no per-call charge, etc. All your money goes to minutes, not fees.
The website is easy to navigate and it is simple to add money (time) to your card online. You can even configure it for your home phone so you don't have to enter all the numbers each time you call (I have not tried this but it is a useful feature).
I have used the same card for five years now and am very pleased with it.

They offer to clients $10 for each friend that client refer and after friend first purchase. The advertiser is "Get $10 with your friend first purchase". My friend create her account and before make the first purchase I entered her info in my referals. The system said that she can not be a referal because her account already exist. We chat with a representative before she make the purchase and also she called there and they did not credit the $10 in my account. They said that we create the account before enter her info in my referals. They ignore that my friend havent made the first purchase. It is just a tricky way to make you send referals but they dont pay for it. They have very poor custumer service, nobody can resolve the problem they just say I'm sorry.

Be very wary of the "Terms & Conditions" on your card. A product is being sold without fully disclosing all information which I did a live chat with a supervisor who decided sarcasm was better than addressing the issue. I purchased Europe Blue card which states: EXPIRATION:"Your card's balance will NOT expire unless the card is not used for any consecutive 12 month period. If your balance expires, please contact customer service". However, the card actually expires 6 months if not recharged. Yet nowhere does it state this. I would NOT recommend Union Telecard as they sell a product without fully disclosing the terms & conditions & are not ethically or morally adept to handling a customer concern.

UnionTeleCard may have good prices, but the sound quality highly variable; the transmission delay drives me nuts (but this might be problem with all phone cards?). I live in rural area and connecting to other rural areas difficult (computer lines apparently have to travel to Austrialia to get 3 counties over) compared to connecting to higher population areas.
Customer service has been fairly patient with my frequent complaints.
Connecting to cell phones can be hit or miss. Connecting to Canada works well.

Union TeleCard offers good options and competitive rates. Their policy indicates an unused pin expires in one year; however, for the casual user, they don't offer a reminder service and once the pin is archived they don't offer a way to reactivate it nor to refund any unused balance. A Customer Service supervisor could not solve this problem and indicated that he would submit a request to the developers to see if a reminder notification (which should be easy to do) but whether they'll do it or not is another story. They do send marketing e-mails though...
Note: I would only recommend this card with the caveat described above.

I found this review not helpful because... uniontelecard.com customer service people always try to assist me doing their best and always give the money back and reactivate the card when they expired, however all the information is over the website and if they doesnt have a reminder we already know that the card expired a year before the purchase.!!!

Stay away at all cost. These guy are ridiculous. Offer a promotion for signing up and purchasing a card that can not be redeemed. Smells like a scam. After 12 emails back and forth with customer service I gave up and came here to tell the world to find another company to patronize.

I found this review not helpful because...If you do not read how to apply the bonus points you will never get them, however is not the companys fault because they have all the information cleared in the webpage, they explain how to redeem the promotions and how to apply the extra amounts to the existing pins...i think that we have to read and check what is happening before judging by appearances...

I have been using their service for a number of years but recently I am continually frustrated with their service levels. I used their so called PIN-less Dialing so that I can always just call the access mumber without being prompted for PIN password and such - but for some time now they bombard one with unsolicited Ads that play along before you are connected to input your desired number, there is no method of opting out!
For crying outloud - I am paying for a service by buying their card - why do I have to be subjected to this nosense. I called customer service and they girl told me I would have to "live with it" WOW!
many times too, when I call an international number 'Uganda' in this instance; the line quality is horrid ofted times. Sometimes even when dialing a legitimate number I am prompted by a message that the number is erroneous even when the same number goes thru just fine with other providers. Then inexplainably you call back a day or so with the same numer and it goes thru.
Another time I needed to make a very urgent call but the systems I was told were down and I was advised by the rep to try again in a day!! unbelievable!
Moreover, the rates can be beat somewhere else - i am using up all my credits and moving on to the competition!!

I liked UnionTelecard Customer Service
I never have had such a pleasant experience as being treated like a human being, and for the first time ever with this type of services, I felt that my money worth it!!!
if you want to talk to home, or here within the city, there is no much options available that make you feel respected, as a customer!!!
Every peny I have spent with UT made my life easier

I have had a pleasant experience with Union Telecard. Almost always the rate offered is the correct rate. A couple of times i experienced that the rate was not right, but i went to the chat a person updated the page and credited my mega clean card for the cents I lost.
Sometimes it is difficult to get in touch with them by the phone but it seems not a lot of people use the chat as far I am aware?

I used the card for 17 minutes and their system charged me for 151 minutes. Customer support was very unhelpful in my opinion on this matter.
Do not recommend Union Telecard.

I asked for a supervisor or manager and even the owner information, she advised me that I was wasting my time. She threatening and continued to hang the phone up every time that I called thereafter (56 times).

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I AM FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU BECAUSE OF THE UNETHICAL AND FALSE ADVERTISING OF THIS COMPANY!

This is totally out of reallity about that company, I use it once in a while and i have read all of the policies they have and they are as fair and clear as any company will need to be. If you call a local access number that is outside your local area, and you are traveling, it is a charge for your cellphone, therefore use the toll free number, that is clearly shown that has a extra charge on the phone card. I suggest all my friends to read all the information because the page is really clear. It is not the companys fault. It is your fault if you dont arm yourself with knowledge. Read the information before purchasing and you will have a Great and transparent Experienced!!!

I've been using these phone cards for 4 years now. I used it in CA, FL and AL. I just did some research on all phone cards available online, and I couldn't believe how much some companies charge in fees. However, Union Telecard do not!

I've been using UnionTelecard for 3 years and have been happy the whole time. No problems to speak of and they offer a good price. I think a couple times I have not been able to connect but it seems that these have been rare. Sometimes the voice quality is not that good. Not a big deal, I don't think.

We've been using the UnionTelecard site for at least a year, maybe two, to buy cards to call El Salvador. My experience has been generally good. It's been convenient not having to go find a store and compare legal info and rates from outdated paper posters. I've had virtually no problems since maybe the second card, and we're on probably our 20th, minimum.
You do have to do a lot of your own "homework." Never, never just take the recommendation of their automated system. You'll get cards with great-looking rates, but they charge weekly maintenance fees, connect fees, or worse yet, say "no connect fee" but have a fee at hang-up, which obviously is a connect fee in disguise.
Always, always click the "More legal information" link ... that's where the fee information is. I will say in their favor that I always find full disclosure once I click on that link, but I do think it would be more ethical to put the fine print at the bottom of the page and not leave it to the consumer to click on the link and get the bad news.
My good experience may relate in part to the fact that we almost always buy IDT cards, which is the company whose cards we had best success with back when we bought cards in the store. We've used Super Clean, Super Quick (when it's on sale), Happy Call (ditto), and most recently, we bought a Mega Clean and Stable card, which I don't think I'll buy again. Ten more minutes isn't worth my spouse having to keep up with the pin.
Also always click on the link that tells you the per-minute rates for your specific country and, if applicable, calling cell phones in the the other country. In much of the developing world, for example, land-line phones aren't an option, and most cards charge at least 2 cents more per minute to call a cell phone, (often more than that). But the site does always have this information once you look at the page for a specific card.
Last piece of advice: If you have a particular card in mind, try searching the site by using Google Advanced Search. It will take you straight to the page for that card. You might also try doing that with the country name to find more cards for that country.

Completely agree with this! I too will be switching to a different service after being treated very condescendingly by a service rep
