“Hidden charges”

Written on: 19/07/2013 by lyczak (1 review written)

Got my Onesimcard today and installed it in my phone. While I am not going to Europe for a month yet I of course wanted to make sure the card worked and all my questions on usage would be answered before we left the US. I followed all the instructions to the letter. OH - did not know US number issued AFTER activation is only good 30 days! Now I have to pay another $3.99 to keep the US number for our trip. DECEPTION! Mybe the instructions somewhere should have cautioned to not activate until… Read Full Review

Bklynb's Response to lyczak's Review

Complete deception. This company is the WORST - there are much better services out there. They make it seem like their fees are minimal and they gloat over the fact that [name removed] thinks they're legit. Get ready for this, too ... you'll receive a notification 10-months in informing you that you'll forfeit your balance if you don't continually recharge your account with their absurd minimum of $25 per recharge. So even if you have $24.99 in your account, the only way to keep that balance is to give them an additional $25 every 10-months. This is pathetic.

Plus, their actual service in Europe is horrible. There's hidden fees and the signals are weak. Just buy a simcard once you land in Europe or whatever your destination of choice might be ... you'll avoid the sneaky fees of OneSimCard and you'll actually get a local number, not one from Estonia.

“As long as you know how it works”

Written on: 14/05/2013

There was no way to test it from the US given the way that Verizon works, but it worked just fine with my i-phone when I arrived in England and then Lebanon. So in a way I felt lucky. Just know that it is an Estonian number and other folks are paying a lot to call it unless you set up a PEN for that country. That PEN can result in monthly charge. Many countries, particularly in middle east don't have a PEN option. Still, it gives one consistent number at reasonable cost. Not for everyone, but… Read Full Review

“possibly the worst customer service EVER”

Written on: 23/03/2013

in theory the service is great but i experienced a lot of calls (over 20 in a day in more than one country) that were dropped after 10 seconds The unprofessionalism and the rudeness of the customer service department was unbelievable I was also unable to top off my card on line due to a exp date change on my CC and it was impossible to correct - Customer service is open from 9-5 Eastern time on weekdays and they just don't reply to messages or email messages Just terrible… Read Full Review

Live customer service is available 24/7 and you can update your credit card info at any time by logging in to your account at onesimcard.com.

When you are in an area with a poor cell signal, there is always the possibility of a dropped call just like with your regular mobile service provider in your home country. You can always submit details of your call issues online at www.onesimcard.com/contact.php and customer support will investigate and reply accordingly.

Thank you,

Written on: 16/10/2012 by rohitashagarwal (1 review written)

It is a great tool to save cost on communicaton needs for Voice or Data while travelling abroad. It works with any unlocked GSM Cell Phone and is easy to use and works around the world with a choice of carriers in the local country. Being a pre-paid card, you are in conltrol of your budget. The only negative I notice is the Cost of Sim $29.95 is bit higher as compared to those offered by its competitors… Read Full Review

“Great for us travelling the world”

Written on: 27/08/2012

Apart from a few problems on my iPhone 4 with it not connecting with the standard method of initiating the call back these SIMs have worked well for us in Thailand, UK, France and Italy (so far). The iPhone 4 problem can be worked around by using the *146* dialling method… Read Full Review

You just need to enter a code into your iPhone for full compatibility as shown in the iPhone How-To Video in the Help section of your OneSimCard.com account:

- Open "OneSimCard" menu
- Select "Settings"
- Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
- Dial digits "1101" and select "OK" (Screen will show "CC OptionX: ON" message)

You will then be able to dial normally.

Thanks!

“It's ok, but can get very expensive if not careful. ”

Written on: 21/08/2012 by Marcelkrasner (1 review written)

It was easy using the service, but it still cost me a lot more than I expected. The best way to use this service is through their mobile app with wifi. I used the service in France and calls cost at least 20 cents/minute plus other charges which are hidden. Nonetheless, the calling service was great as advertised. Just be careful and really look after how much you spend, and if wifi is available, use the app all the time. I will still continue using this service just because of its… Read Full Review

“Limited coverage / limited savings”

Written on: 06/06/2012

I travel extensively throughout the Middle East and Sfric and often find that the OneSim is not supported by the local mobile phone carrier. Also, in many parts of the world it is less expensive to purchase a local Sim Card that to use OneSim… Read Full Review
