I bought international sim card for my mother before her organized tour to Europe(Benelux and UK) , in order to keep persistence connection. I assigned Israeli number and dialed a local number, while she received it on the mobile phone. During her two-weeks trip I saved approximately $200 when I compared it to the roaming prices of mobile operator. 20 cents vs 3 dollars for incoming call!!!
Since I'm paying all my mother's phone bills I really saved a lot. And important thing that she always was in the coverage zone and almost all my calls reached her mobile.
