Description (provided by business)

Vetsure was founded by vets who had become increasingly unhappy with existing pet insurers - now a rapidly growing network of vets across the UK promote us. Vetsure policies offer lifelong cover of up to £5000 per condition each and every year that the policy is active - policies cover an unlimited number of unrelated conditions every year so are not the same as other policies with a fixed or time-dependent vet fee limit. By working closely with partnered vets, we aim to offer genuine value for money and the reassurance that pet owners need - especially at those stressful times of accident and illness. There’s still a long way to go in this very competitive and confusing marketplace and we greatly value your feedback to help us continually improve.

“A fair conclusion”

Written on: 18/09/2014 by 286Waugh (1 review written)

Our dog needed complicated and expensive surgery. While it was not possible for the whole cost to be covered, what was covered was paid very promptly and without problem. It is unfortunate when such large costs are generated that no special assistance is given. It would seem that prices at the vet's are all going up, in much the same way as doctor's and pet insurers, like personal health insurers, will have to think hard about increasing the amounts paid for claims… Read Full Review

“Ellie's knee”

Written on: 22/08/2014 by MrsAnnM (1 review written)

When Ellie dislocated her knee Vetsure were there to help. Peace of mind for her owners meant that little Westie could have her operation, medication and all her aftercare without any more stress for all of them.. Helpful people made the whole episode easy to deal with and now Ellie is well on the mend. Thank you Vetsure… Read Full Review

“overpriced”

Written on: 22/08/2014

We took out this policy as recommended by our vet. At £25 a month to insure a young cross breed pup we thought it was a little pricey but felt that claiming would be easier as our vet practice is a vetsure practice. Arranging the policy was straight forward but it is a shame we couldn't change our dd date to two days later. Vetsure wanted another month instalment upfront to make the change so that would've been 2 instalments in one month which unfortunately we couldn't afford. Sadly I am… Read Full Review

“my gorgeous lurcher and her owner........”

Written on: 28/07/2014 by wuff (1 review written)

say a big thank you to her vets and Vetsure, not long ago my lurcher hurt her paw which became infected, vetsure was so easy to claim from,I had only the excess to pay for and my vets claimed straight from vetsure,no expensive outlay and no waiting ages for the claim being settled. Vetsure seem genuinely caring and concerned about you and your pet, It`s a shame i didn`t find you before i ended up with two exclusions on my policy,BUT,i knew that would happen… Read Full Review

“New Cocker Puppy Very Happy to Have Vetsure Insurance”

Written on: 03/07/2014 by Lady-Wyverex (2 reviews written)

Our beautiful cocker spaniel was very ill at the end of November 2011. He was 8 years old. After various tests he was diagnosed with cancer. He had major surgery at a specialist veterinary centre followed by chemotherapy. Despite all this the cancer had spread to his lungs so he had extremely expensive tablet chemotherapy at home for the rest of his life. He seemed very well, happy and had an active life. He was truly living with cancer not dying from it. He was put to sleep 2 days before… Read Full Review

“Very expensive for low limits to cover”

Written on: 02/06/2014 by tonebex12 (1 review written)

When researching policies I found this firm to be extremely expensive for relatively limited cover. £52.84 per month (after introductory 10% discount) for our 10-week old Golden Retriever puppy. This only covers vet fees of up to £5,000 per condition per year. Not at all competitive with the pet insurance market generally. I think they are having a laugh!!!… Read Full Review

Ashleyatvetsure's Response to tonebex12's Review

Written on: 06/06/2014

Thank you for taking the time to post this feedback and to give us the opportunity to discuss your feelings further over the phone yesterday. As highlighted, the £5000 vet fee cover to which you refer applies to each condition and recharges each year that the policy remains active. If your dog is unfortunate enough to suffer from multiple conditions this limit applies to each and every unrelated condition such that the overall annual vet fee limit is effectively limitless. Many insurers specify a vet fee limit that applies to an overall vet fee limit per year (not per condition) and the benefit may expire after a defined period after initial diagnosis of the condition. It is clear from your feedback that we need to work hard to make this clearer in our promotional material - we appreciate that it is very difficult for pet owners to compare ‘like for like’ when researching products and we remain committed to helping pet owners make informed choices.

“ZeeZee's cystitis”

Written on: 20/05/2014 by carolineost (1 review written)

ZeeZee my 6 year old cat had recurring cystitis which started in July 2013 and resulted in two penile blockages which could have killed him. Following the second blockage, my Vet decided the only course was to reconstruct ZeeZee's ureta (basically amputating his pen). Zeezee is now doing great and has not had any cystitis recurrences since surgery which is nothing short of a miracle as I was fearing the only course of action would be to have him put down. Vetsure picked up all the bills until… Read Full Review

“Yogi Bear is a lucky boy”

Written on: 20/05/2014

My vets and Vetsure have been fantastic. My Chocolate Labrador Yogi only went to the vets for an upset tummy and instead had to have an operation for a tumour on his spleen and have it all removed. Vetsure paid the bill less any excess and percentage to my vet. I did not have to pay the LARGE bill first and then wait weeks to be paid back. Excellent service… Read Full Review

“My Labrador Ben”

Written on: 08/02/2014 by Benthelab (1 review written)

I insured Ben with Vetsure after speaking to my vet, and I'm so glad I did, he is only 6months old now but I've had to make two claims, the first for a bad stomach infection where he stayed in the vets for two days and had a biopsy, and the second for ingesting two socks, claiming was so easy as it was done between my vets and Vetsure, I only had to take the form in, I would certainly recommend insuring with Vetsureol… Read Full Review

“Brilliant service”

Written on: 09/01/2014

Bouncer had been very poorly for a few days. The vet, found he had a very high temperature. I thought he'd swallowed something. With Vetsure under my belt I could afford to agree to an X-ray and tablets etc. Thanks to Ark House vets and Vetsure excellent service he is totally better. He had gastro-enteritis which I learned later was doing the rounds of the area. Warm thanks to Robin, Adele and Laura at Ark House Leighton Buzzard and to Vetsure for paying the claim so promptly as it was close to… Read Full Review

Exactly what you want from an insurance policy to save from added stress when you're worried enough already about your pet. 5 stars all round. Thanks for helping my cat back on the road to recovery. “Damaged eye”

Written on: 04/12/2013

Our cat was viciously attacked by a feral cat who lives along the road. The eye was torn and my vet suggested that I took him to an out of hours veternery practice as the accident was done late afternoon. The treatment the cat was given was superb but the first operation was not a 100% successful and he had to have a second operation and thankfully this was a huge success and the eye was saved. The two operations were very costly and were not fully covered by the insurance I had taken out for… Read Full Review

“Payment of cover for recent illness of my 4-year-old dog.”

Written on: 03/12/2013

My dog had haemorrhaged in the night and she had to spend two nights on a drip at our local vets after being diagnosed with suspected gastro-enteritis which was thought to be caused by Seasonal Canine Illness. This is still being researched but it is thought to stem from Autumn walks in woodland. Thanks to our vets, her life was saved. It is so easy to make a claim from your company. I merely fill in brief details on page one, then just hand it to the vet who completes all details and forwards… Read Full Review
