“£10 to change your address”

This is another example of an insurance company which rips off its clients in excessive (and obnoxious) fees. We moved house--to an area five miles from our previous location--and our insurance went up- okay, fine... but we were also then charged £10 to change our address (which the woman did on the phone in 30 seconds). I made a complaint about this and was told, "It's in the policy." I informed them that they will no longer be our insurer come time to renew (just on the principle of it).... (read more)

“Accident insurance”

I am into my second year with the Green Insurance company for my dog Rosie. I have just made my first claim and it has been refused. Rosie fell heavily when chasing a ball and my vet diagnosed a fracture, she was referred to a specialist hospital and as she was in such pain she was operated on straight away, she did not have a fracture but had a large screw put in her joint to support the leg. “First class service.”

Our Black Lab, Algy, was ill whilst in kennels when we were on holiday. I had only switched to the Green Insurance Company on renewal. The kennels took Algy to our Vet on two occassions. I emailed Green Insurance with the facts as I understood them. I received a prompt response and forms to sign for both the Vet and myself. I was told the information I had already sent would be recorded for me and need not be duplicated. I handed the forms to my Vet to complete his part and fax off. Next... (read more)

“Nightmare”

Took out Ultimate Lifetime Insurance for my dog 2 years agao - she was a resuce dog. She became ill and Green Insurance were good and paid out - this was at a cost of £22.00 a month and the claim was £3.5K. The following year they increased premium to £48.00 a month - again she was ill and we had claims about £3K. They have now increased the premiums to £146.00 a month - they will not negotiate - they say take it or leave it - its because we made so many claims - thats why we chose... (read more)
