I rescued a dog from an animal charity in 2006, took him to a vet I have delt with for over 30 years. My dog passed the check up apart from a dirty ear, not an infection or mites etc. Took out a Life time plan, with reduction for being a pensioner( no details of the ammount of the reduction anywhere on my yearly statements) In 5 years the payment has gone from £12.00 to nearly £40.00 per month I claimed for the first time for the removal of a benign tumor from my dogs ear in 2011. Cost in total over £1,300. I have received a cheque today for £26, reason the ear problem goes back to 2006. So why did I bother £40.00 for the following year will cost me £480, no where near the vet bill I have just paid but I will try and meet any future costs my self. In with the letter and cheque there was a leaflet asking me to help pets less fortunate than mine, payment to be made to Petplan Charitable trust, I think not.
