I have never claimed on pet insurance for my present dog, a 13 year old Westie, but I thought I would change to am cheaper insurance policy early in 2013. Silly me for tempting fate. I got home one evening, having been out for several hours,to find her in a distressed state and,of course, my vet had closed. Details of emergency vet fees, test fees and medication costs were posted off by my vet on 2nd December and 2 phone calls later still no payment. During the last phone call I was told my claim would be fast-tracked and I would get a text in a couple of days confirming my claim had been dealt with, but so far no joy. My dog is going to be on heart medication permanently so I don't have great hopes for my 3-monthly claims when the time arrives. Wish I had never changed. You "get what you pay for it appears"! Unfortunately I did not read any reviews before changing insurance companies.
