After my horse got put down I made a claim for death and surrounding vets bills. After reading all the horrific reviews I was expecting E&l to be a nightmare and was expecting my claim to be rejected or for them to pull out some trick so they could refuse to pay. However in all honesty I must say they were absolutely fine. Paid out no questions asked and all the service I received over the phone was great. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Only downside is they were a bit slow in assessing my claim initially then once my claim was accepted I was originally told there was a backlog of claims so it would be another 5 weeks for payment to reach me - however after an email complaining about this to claims manager I received money a week later. Therefore I got full payout about a month after I sent away my claims form, so I cant really complain. At the end of the day if you read the fine print in your policy and have a solid claim they have to pay. I would use again.

You're one of the lucky few I think. My horse was diagnosed with cancer and had a tracheotomy to breathe, which was infected, but I was told that because I did not seek their permission to have him PTS (despite the fact that he was dying and suffering) they will not pay his death... I know this comment is years after yours, but people need to be warned. Wonder how many thousands have fallen foul of their "permission" clause- I was stood with 2 VETS, who were telling me there was only one option for my boy... and I stand by the decision I made for MY horse, despite losing out to one of their (I expect) MANY get out clauses... they are a disgusting company and 3 months on, still haven't paid vet bills that they agreed to pay over a month ago.
