My recent claim for the dogs knee surgery was settled in full (ish) and quite quickly. There were only 2 negative aspects to the whole claims process. 1 was that I had to get the claim pre-authorised as it was going to be over a £1,000. This was time consuming, cost me more money to get the vets to complete the extra form, and delays with the processing meant we had to reschedule the operation until the pre-authorisation came through. Second negative was that my vets will not deal directly with Animal Friends for claims as they state that the money does not get paid to them quickly enough. This means that I had to stump up the money and claim it back afterwards. Not funny when we're talking such a large amount. Throwing in a positive note, all of the staff I have dealt with at Animal Friends have been lovely, friendly and helpful.
