Facing 'Brick Walls'

As I approached retirement I realised that over my career I had acquired 10 pensions with 7 different pension companies. I was aware of the new pension freedoms and wished to take advantage of the many options I perceived were available to me. I approached all the pension companies to start a process of combining my policies to access flexible drawdown and purchase a lifetime annuity. After two months, with very little progress, I realised I was facing 10 ‘brick walls’ with no prospect of achieving my aims.
At this point I found My Pension Expert and my first contact was with a man who was extremely helpful and supportive. Together we worked out a number of options to suit my needs. He then referred me to a financial Advisor who reviewed my needs and the options proposed. On his advice, the options were refined and progressed.
Another advisor then became involved to ensure all the pension companies were contacted, the transfers happened and the new policies were put in place. As you can imagine this took some time, however, at every stage she kept me informed on the progress of each pension against a time schedule, chasing where necessary.
At all times they were available to discuss any questions, or concerns I may have had and where necessary were quick to reply and up-date.
