“Bermuda Log Falls Water Feature has no future in my garden”

The Bermuda Log Falls Water Feature has no future in my garden or am I bucking the trend?
I bought the named item at a garden centre. The garden centre itself is very good.
At first view I was delighted with my £139.00 purchase; the outside looks were excellent. Alas, that is where my joy ended.
The manual itself has little to be proud of. It doesn’t give any information other than the technical set up and maintenance. Although it recommends two products from the same stable, of course, it doesn’t speak at any length of algae nor the reason why these two products are a necessity. For a newbie like me there was little help.
The feature has an opening on the side accessed through a sliding trap. This opening is woefully small to accommodate a hand trying to fit in components such as the water pump; the water pump itself needs to be extracted often in order to clean it as there is no way to effect any clearance with such a small opening so this becomes a chore rather than a pleasure; the monthly cleaning is a chimeras it needs clearing oftener then that. My own experience is that a few days after cleaning (5-6 days) the water starts to trickle rather than run; there is a filter sponge on the outside ????? of the feature where the water starts its run downhill. Perhaps a filter at the entrance would be more advantageous. The water pump has 4 very small suction cups at its base (more about this later).
Moving onto the interior of the feature, emptying the water and the water changing procedures become a bit of a challenge. The interior for whatever reason is like a rocky mountain full of crevices and totally uneven (try to get a fix here for the water pump suction cups = try to climb the Everest). To let the water out there are several options – no instructions anywhere:
1 Upend the feature so that the water comes out through the intake hole at the bottom of the descent.
2 Move it sideways so that it comes out of the sliding opening
3 Find a fault at the top of the feature (as I did) from where the water can come out.
Any of those ways are only partially useful as the problem of cleaning the inside of the container persists since there is no way to wipe clean the container due to the conurbations of the “terrain” if and when all the water has been drained.
In the 2 months since I installed this parody of a water fixture it functioned properly for 10 days despite cleaning it twice in the process.
Its loveliness outside hides a monster on the inside. That is my experience.
