Spent hours one Sunday trying to order a desk and chair set for my granddaughter at a cost of over £100. Failed, which was worrying because I had entered my credit card details twice. So tried again on Monday morning in a hurry because I had to get to work. Entered all details of billing address and delivery address but unfortunately, one digit in the delivery postcode was not right.
The delivery company tried to deliver the present but failed - due to an incomplete address, even though street number and name and the town were right.
Did they phone my daughter-in-law, whose phone number I had supplied? No
Did they phone me? No
They took the item all the way back to the depot.
Did they tell me they'd done that? No
For the umpteenth time, I have phoned the service department, on its premium number to be told that it's my fault that delivery wasn't made.
Now they are going to refund the item.
Apparently the supplied telephone number of the person to whom a parcel is addressed is for GLTC, not for the delivery company.
What has happened to plain common sense? It's obviously missing from the not so great little trading company and its delivery company.
